Jurnal Gizi dan Pangan (Indonesian Journal of Nutrition and Food) is a scientific publication in the field of nutrition and food related to aspects of biochemistry, clinical nutrition, community nutrition, functional foods, and socio-economy aspects of nutrition and food, including nutrition and food information and regulation. Published articles are original research articles and reviews (by invitation) on nutrition and food that have not been published elsewhere or under review process in other scientific journals and they must be the original work of the authors.
The manuscript is arranged with these chapters: Title, Authors, Affiliations, and corresponding author’s contact details, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction (Background and Objectives), Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgment, and List of References.
The manuscript is typed using MS-Word, Times New Roman font 12, left margin 4 cm, and right, top and bottom margin 3 cm. It should be a maximum of 20 pages with 1.5 space. Appendices are unnecessary. The manuscript should be given a line number at the left margin. The manuscript should be written in English. Figures should be sent in JPEG format. Decimals should be written using dot, not a comma (22.5% or 22.5); numbers in thousands and millions should be written using comma (Rp 25,500 or $ 1,000); large numbers can be replaced with words (2 million for 2,000,000).
Title. The manuscript title consists of important and interesting keywords (variables) and it is not necessarily the same as the title of the research report/final project. Using words such as “influence”, “relationship”, and “analysis” should be avoided. The title should be written in English, consisting of 10−15 words. Running title (6−8 words) for header should be provided.
Authors. The list of authors consists of the full name of each author (without academic title), institutions/affiliations with full address and postal code, and phone number as well as electronic mail (e-mail) address of the corresponding author.
Abstract. The abstract contains a brief description of the research objectives, methods, results, and implications in a single paragraph. The abstract should be written in not more than 300 words with single spacing. Keywords should reflect the content of the manuscript. Keywords consist of 3−5 words and should be alphabetized.
Introduction. The introduction consists of the background of the study and research objectives t. Background of study should explain the state of the art of the topic, by referring to local and international literature as primary references.
Methods. Methods section consists of these subchapters: research design, research location and time; sampling method (survey), subjects/sample materials, data collection methods/ procedures, analytical tools; (laboratory); and data analysis methods. The author needs to write the information of the ethical clearance number of their research. In this part, there should not be any tables or figures added.
Result and Discussion. This section should be written in one chapter. The results section presents data of characteristics of subjects/ samples and findings of the research, while the discussion section contains arguments that relate and compare the findings with scientific theories, concepts, and findings from other researches. The discussion section should be meaningful and not merely showcasing the results (tables and figures). Highlight implications of the research findings and support them using primary references.
Conclusion. This section contains answers to the research objectives and it should not be a summary of the results. Providing recommendations is optional and they should be written in a separate paragraph within the conclusion section. Recommendations could be implications of the programs and future researches that are important to be carried out based on the current research results.
Acknowledgment. This section contains acknowledgments to research grant donors or sponsors, contributors of samples/materials, and providers of research facilities. Individual names should be written without their academic titles.
Declaration of Interest. Write down "The authors have no conflict of interest" or could be other sentences that say if the authors do not have any conflict of interest in preparing the manuscript.
LIST OF REFERENCES
List only references cited in the manuscript. Use relatively new references (should be from the last 10 years), with the ratio of primary references about 80%. The number of references should be between 10−20 references and less than 30, at least one of them cited one article that has been published in the Indonesian Journal of Nutrition and Food. Referencing style should be prepared according to the Harvard system, containing names and years arranged in alphabetical order based on the authors’ last names. Maximal 10 author names can be written; if there are more than 10 authors in a reference, write the first ten authors and follow with et al.
In-text citation is differentiated between writing it at the beginning or at the end of a sentence, e.g. for a single author: Khomsan (2014) or (Khomsan 2014); for two authors: Khomsan and Sukandar (2010) or (Khomsan & Sukandar 2010); for more than two authors Khomsan et al. (2013) or (Khomsan et al. 2013). Authors are suggested to use reference management software i.e. Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, etc.

TABLES AND FIGURES
Tables or figures should be presented following the order of when they are cited in the text. The maximum number of tables and figures is 8 (eight). Illustrations in the form of photos should be included in JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 100 dpi or a minimum file size of 50 kb per image. Illustrations in the form of a graph must be accompanied by raw data (MS Excel). Titles of tables and figures should be written in left alignment and use sentence cases.
