Abstract

The development of city cannot be separated from the activities of land use change from a vegetated area to  built area which is closely related to the decrease in the quantity and quality of Green Open Space (RTH). Depok City has public RTH of 2.015 Ha (10.06%) and private RTH of 1.255 Ha (6.26%). The area of ​​RTH in Depok City is not in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 26 of 2007 concerning Spatial Planning which stipulates that the proportion of RTH in the city area is at least 30% of the city area. The proportion of 30% is the minimum measure to ensure the balance of the city's ecosystem, both the balance of the hydrological system and the microclimate system, as well as other ecological systems, which in turn will increase the availability of clean air needed by the community, and at the same time can increase the aesthetic value of the city. The study was aimed to (1) identified land use in 2006, 2013 and 2019 and to analyze changes in Depok City, (2) predicted land use in Depok City in 2031 and (3) analyze green open space needs based on area size. The research was conducted by image interpretation, overlay, CA-Markov and green open space requirements based on area size. The results of image interpretation show that the built-up land area increased significantly by 3.579 during period 2006-2019. The area of ​​built land is estimated to be 15.282 ha, green open space to 2.872 ha and rice fields to be 299 ha. RTH in the city of Depok does not meet the minimum requirement of 30% of the total area mandated by the Spatial Planning Law, which is an area of ​​6,009 ha. Existing green open space in Depok City covers an area of ​​2.922 ha, so there is still deficiency around 3.087 ha.
